AI buildout: where could another 10× come from?

Start with TSS, TOWA and Faraday for smaller operating businesses; Bitdeer for a much riskier transformation. Babcock & Wilcox is now gated by financing, permitting and a 2030 operation date. POET offers a venture-like optical-platform outcome. These are conditional research candidates. I would not forecast a probable tenfold return for any name in this universe.

Eleven ideas worth understanding first

My strongest operating-business starting points are TSS, TOWA and Faraday. BTDR adds substantial project and financing risk. BW was downgraded: its original guarantee ended and commercial operation is now planned for 2030. Rigaku, Nittobo and C SUN have attractive bottleneck roles, but the numerical hurdle argues for caution. KEEL needs a lease; Lightwave Logic needs meaningful production royalties.

01 · NASDAQ:TSSI · $289.0m

TSS, Inc.

Small profitable integrator can scale rack qualification, liquid-cooled AI systems integration and higher-margin services through 2027-29. Requires step-change throughput and earnings, not procurement resale inflation.

Why now. Q2 2026 systems integration revenue $13.9m, +46% YoY; facilities management +84%; $17m investment for next-generation AI infrastructure. Total $35.1m revenue fell20% as low-margin procurement fell45%. Actual integration revenue, not an AI MOU.

Issuer evidence · 2026-08-13

10× equity hurdle$3.61bn
Required annual revenue$1.51bn
Required 3-year growth98.2%

Analyst hurdle: 25% total share-count growth, 30× earnings, 8% net margin. Revenue starts at $193.3m (Four reported quarters ending 2026-06-30).

Variant wedge. Integration, services and gross profit must become several times larger. Use operating earnings; procurement resale and a tax benefit can distort revenue and net income.

First rejection. OEM/customer concentration, new facility or $17m tooling underutilization, gross-profit growth stalls; share issuance absorbs growth.

What would make it investable. Integration gross profit and rack throughput expand with positive operating cash flow. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Advance to deeper work. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

02 · TSE:6315 · $1.15bn

TOWA Corporation

HBM4/5 stacks and larger AI packages lift precision compression-molding equipment orders; a smaller earnings base creates operating leverage. Watch HBM-related bookings, new customer wins and panel-level packaging production orders.

Why now. FY2025 results presentation says HBM memory producers are increasing mass-production investment; TOWA expects molding underfill (MUF) production to continue and custom-ASIC packaging/panel-level packaging investment to expand. This is management positioning, not guaranteed orders.

Issuer evidence · 2026-05-11

10× equity hurdle$12.61bn
Required annual revenue$1.80bn
Required 3-year growth67.4%

Analyst hurdle: 10% total share-count growth, 35× earnings, 20% net margin. Revenue starts at $384.2m (Provider revenue snapshot; reporting period unverified).

Variant wedge. Compression-molding and packaging demand must expand far beyond a cyclical recovery. The current provider forward revenue CAGR is only about 20%, well below a tenbagger business outcome.

First rejection. Hybrid bonding or competing encapsulation processes reduce MUF content; capex pauses or customer concentration prevents bookings converting to profit.

What would make it investable. AI/HBM packaging orders accelerate and capacity converts into profitable shipments. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Advance to deeper work. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

03 · TWSE:3035 · $1.74bn

Faraday Technology Corporation

A mature-node ASIC house becomes a credible advanced-node AI/communication design partner; NRE design wins convert into recurring production business. Watch 4nm/5nm projects reaching production, engineering gross profit and more North American customers.

Why now. Issuer 4Q25 results say 2025 design-win order amounts doubled versus 2024; first 4nm AI project was secured in the prior quarter, followed by a 5nm networking ASIC and another North American advanced-packaging project. 2025 annual report reports revenue NT$17.993bn versus NT$11.065bn in 2024 (approximately +62.6%).

Issuer evidence · 2026-02 (4Q25 results)

10× equity hurdle$19.97bn
Required annual revenue$2.85bn
Required 3-year growth96.6%

Analyst hurdle: 15% total share-count growth, 35× earnings, 20% net margin. Revenue starts at $375.4m (Provider revenue snapshot; reporting period unverified).

Variant wedge. Multiple advanced-node AI/networking chips must enter high-volume production. One design win or engineering fee is insufficient; mix and recurring royalties need to improve.

First rejection. Projects stay at NRE/prototype stage; foundry execution or qualification fails; wafer pass-through revenue grows without earnings or cash flow.

What would make it investable. 4nm AI ASIC and 5nm networking wins progress to volume revenue. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Advance to deeper work. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

04 · NYSE:BW · $849.1m

Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises

Repeated funded boiler and steam-turbine projects could transform earnings. The first award alone does not support a 10x in two to three years; commercial operation is planned for 2030.

Why now. Q2 reported $100.7m Base Electron revenue and $73.9m receivables. The $2.4bn contract includes about $2bn reimbursable costs plus markup. BW now targets commercial operation in 2030. Applied Digital disclosed its original guarantee terminated May 29 after a $37m payment on behalf of Base Electron. Local permitting and full project financing remain unresolved.

Issuer evidence · 2026-10-03

10× equity hurdle$12.74bn
Required annual revenue$5.09bn
Required 3-year growth82.8%

Analyst hurdle: 50% total share-count growth, 25× earnings, 10% net margin. Revenue starts at $834.3m (Issuer August 2026 presentation: TTM revenue $834.3m; quarterly provider restatement mismatch not used).

Variant wedge. The original Applied Digital guarantee ended May 29 and commercial operation is planned for 2030. Several additional independently funded awards and much higher recurring profit are needed; contract value includes reimbursable costs.

First rejection. Full project financing or permits fail; receivables do not become cash; low project margins, related-party concentration, warrants and new share issuance consume per-share upside.

What would make it investable. Verify independent project financing, permits, receivable collection and repeat funded contracts. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Valuation / expectations gated. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

05 · NASDAQ:BTDR · $3.00bn

Bitdeer Technologies Group

An emerging cloud and land/power portfolio may rerate from mining to infrastructure if Tydal and Malaysia convert to rent/profitable GPU subscriptions.

Why now. Actual $4.7bn16-year Tydal lease for121ITMW to Volta subsidiary/end customer AI lab. $1.3bn letters-of-credit credit backstop anticipated, subject conditions. Q2AI Cloud revenue$14m of$228.8m total; phases targetedQ4'26/Q1'27. Mining remains largest business.

Issuer evidence · 2026-08-04 / 2026-08-10

10× equity hurdle$44.93bn
Required annual revenue$7.49bn
Required 3-year growth109.7%

Analyst hurdle: 50% total share-count growth, 30× earnings, 20% net margin. Revenue starts at $812.3m (Four reported quarters ending 2026-06-30).

Variant wedge. Tydal must deliver and several additional campuses/cloud programs must scale. Annualizing a 16-year lease value overstates near-term earnings; mining economics remain material.

First rejection. Conditional credit support/financing fails, Norway construction slips, GPU depreciation/utilization, mining losses and serial capital issuance.

What would make it investable. Tydal financing/backstop becomes unconditional and delivered capacity begins earning rent. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Advance to deeper work. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

06 · NASDAQ:POET · $1.35bn

POET Technologies Inc.

Optical interposer becomes a qualified high-volume engine/light-source platform across several AI-network suppliers; revenue scales from a very small recognized base.

Why now. Q2 revenue $569,925, net loss $11.3m, cash and investments $796.3m. Disclosed initial Lumilens $50m purchase order and subsequent $2.4m customer PO; potential $500m+ purchases over five years are conditional, not recognized revenue. Remaining-2026 substantial unit shipments are for qualification. May financing added shares and warrants.

Issuer evidence · 2026-08-13

10× equity hurdle$20.22bn
Required annual revenue$2.02bn
Required 3-year growth956.9%

Analyst hurdle: 50% total share-count growth, 40× earnings, 25% net margin. Revenue starts at $1.7m (Four reported quarters ending 2026-06-30).

Variant wedge. The interposer must become a broadly adopted production platform. Sales must move from qualification units to substantial repeat orders. The computed revenue jump is venture-scale, not consensus.

First rejection. Qualification or yields fail; announced purchases are delayed/cancelled; customer concentration and warrants prevent business growth translating into per-share growth.

What would make it investable. Qualified designs ship repeat high-volume optical-engine orders. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Advance to deeper work. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

07 · TSE:268A · $2.62bn

Rigaku Holdings Corporation

X-rays inspect buried layers and defects that become difficult to measure as chips and HBM grow more complex; new metrology and inspection tools plus Onto's channels expand fab adoption. Watch production qualifications, backlog conversion and new-product sales.

Why now. Issuer 2Q/1H26 presentation: semiconductor process-control sales +18% YoY and orders +86% in 1H; 2Q sales +60% and orders more than 3x. Management targets approximately ¥100bn semiconductor revenue in 2030 and >50% of an estimated US$1bn new-product SAM. These targets are ambitions, not consensus or backlog. Onto strategic investment closed September 2026.

Issuer evidence · 2026-08-07

10× equity hurdle$28.83bn
Required annual revenue$4.12bn
Required 3-year growth93.1%

Analyst hurdle: 10% total share-count growth, 35× earnings, 20% net margin. Revenue starts at $572.0m (Provider revenue snapshot; reporting period unverified).

Variant wedge. Semiconductor X-ray metrology must become much larger than the broader scientific-instrument base. Management FY2030 ambitions cannot be moved into FY2028-29.

First rejection. New inspection systems remain evaluations; unmatched production throughput limits adoption; legacy analytics dilutes growth or competition captures the new market.

What would make it investable. Semiconductor order growth converts into recurring production-tool shipments. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Valuation / expectations gated. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

08 · TSE:3110 · $3.84bn

Nitto Boseki (Nittobo)

T-glass reduces package warping; NE/NER glass reduces signal loss in faster boards. High specification requirements, yields and qualification constrain substitution. Watch new capacity reaching qualification, specialty mix and recurring margins.

Why now. Q1 FYMar27 issuer filing: electronic materials revenue ¥14.589bn, +29.5% YoY; segment operating profit ¥7.036bn, +70.0%. Company attributes growth to AI-server low-dielectric glass, low-expansion package-substrate glass and price revisions. FYMar27 group guidance ¥141bn revenue and ¥30bn operating profit. July 1, 2026 stock split was 5-for-1; guidance EPS is split-adjusted ¥109.87.

Issuer evidence · 2026-08-05

10× equity hurdle$42.23bn
Required annual revenue$4.83bn
Required 3-year growth84.9%

Analyst hurdle: 10% total share-count growth, 35× earnings, 25% net margin. Revenue starts at $762.9m (Provider revenue snapshot; reporting period unverified).

Variant wedge. Specialty glass volumes, prices and profit must accelerate well beyond current expansion plans. Remove the prior asset-sale gain from recurring earnings.

First rejection. New suppliers qualify, scarcity pricing reverses or capacity ramp depresses returns. A prior asset-sale gain inflated annual net income; use recurring profits for valuation.

What would make it investable. New specialty-glass capacity ramps with pricing and customer qualifications intact. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Valuation / expectations gated. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

More packaging stages and larger packages need more precise process tools; expansion by foundries and OSATs can lift a niche supplier's orders. Watch semiconductor mix, order conversion and gross margins rather than headline AI capex.

Why now. Official June12 AI Supply Chain presentation positions advanced packaging as a bottleneck and identifies CoWoS, SoIC and panel-level packaging opportunities. Company November26 2025 announcement reports a TSMC Excellent Production Support supplier award. Historical issuer application map explicitly links ovens, lamination, bonding and UV cure to HBM and advanced packaging. No verified AI revenue percentage.

10× equity hurdle$30.80bn
Required annual revenue$5.70bn
Required 3-year growth179.3%

Analyst hurdle: 15% total share-count growth, 30× earnings, 18% net margin. Revenue starts at $261.7m (Provider revenue snapshot; reporting period unverified).

Variant wedge. Packaging and AI-board production equipment must dominate earnings. A supplier award is not an order-book or market-share disclosure.

First rejection. G2C+ alliance opportunities accrue to partners instead; its tools prove substitutable, customers delay packaging investment or the market has already priced the ramp.

What would make it investable. AI packaging/board equipment backlog and segment profit are disclosed. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Valuation / expectations gated. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

Analyst hurdle: 75% total share-count growth, 30× earnings, 25% net margin. Revenue starts at $188.1m (Four reported quarters ending 2026-06-30).

Variant wedge. A first signed and funded lease is missing. Several operating campuses are needed; reported liquidity includes financing proceeds and is not value created for existing shares.

First rejection. No lease, permits/capacity not deliverable on claimed timeline, expensive project financing or massive share dilution.

What would make it investable. An investment-grade tenant signs a financed lease with a deliverable power schedule. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

11 · NASDAQ:LWLG · $878.8m

Lightwave Logic, Inc.

Multiple foundry/customer qualifications make polymers a repeatable modulator material with high-margin royalties.

Why now. Q2 10-Q reports only $32,751 licensing/royalty revenue and zero NRE recognized for the quarter. Company expects no significant high-volume commercial production revenue until 2027 at earliest; development programs do not assure adoption. Model is materials and IP licensing rather than finished optical modules.

Analyst hurdle: 50% total share-count growth, 40× earnings, 40% net margin. Revenue starts at $0.3m (Four reported quarters ending 2026-06-30).

Variant wedge. Foundry-compatible materials must enter several mass-production programs. High royalty margins are assumed; technical demonstrations are insufficient.

First rejection. Reliability/yield/foundry integration stalls, silicon or lithium-niobate wins, or serial equity issuance consumes per-share upside.

What would make it investable. A foundry/customer production agreement generates material recurring royalties. Entry price must still offer return after financing and dilution.

Actionability. Exposure not yet proven. View fundamentals and sources. Next workflow: operating model with diluted shares and a downside case.

Reverse-engineer the share-price outcome

A tenbagger thesis needs a plausible bridge from today's business to future earnings per share. These are generous illustrative operating hurdles, with company-specific margin, earnings-multiple and share-count assumptions. They are not revenue forecasts.

Required future equity value = current equity value × 10 × future/current share count
Required annual net earnings = required equity value ÷ exit price-to-earnings multiple
Required revenue = required annual net earnings ÷ assumed net margin

If shares rise 50%, a 10× stock price requires a 15× equity value. For a $1bn starting company at 30× earnings and a 20% net margin, that means $500m annual net earnings and $2.5bn revenue. Debt, depreciation, capital spending and minority claims must be paid before those net earnings accrue to common shareholders.

The values below use a common three-year growth calculation from the displayed revenue base. For dated four-quarter bases, the endpoint is three years after that reporting date, within the broad 2028–29 horizon. Other rows use unnormalized provider bases and are arithmetic references only.

The calculator uses total share-count growth, not annual dilution. For cloud/landlord businesses, margin assumptions must include interest, depreciation and minority claims. A full enterprise-value model remains necessary. POET and LWLG revenue-growth figures are unstable because their starting revenues are tiny.

Competition matters. Power equipment must beat qualified incumbents, optical startups must survive both competing suppliers and architecture changes, and custom-chip designers must win business against customer internal teams. Packaging tools and materials benefit from process complexity, but a substitute process can remove their bottleneck. Data-center developers compete on deliverable power, cost of capital and timing, not announced land acreage.

Correlated downside. Hyperscaler capex cuts, lower GPU rental prices, slower power delivery or more efficient inference can hit many rows at once. Small market capitalization alone is insufficient; a distressed security can lose nearly all its value. Most of the speculative operating and project names could fall 50%–90% if the transformation fails, with insolvency outcomes possible for capital-intensive or distressed issuers. These are qualitative failure risks, not modeled drawdown forecasts.

Method and evidence limits

BW correction, October 3. Deeper work identified termination of the Applied Digital guarantee, a 2030 commercial-operation schedule, and weak cash conversion. BW is now gated. Read the full thesis and drawdown study.

Market fit and verdict. This is a speculative AI infrastructure idea screen. The five advanced names receive priority because a smaller starting value meets an identifiable new business pathway. No candidate has a completed downside, funding or probability model.

Metric provenance. Fiscal.ai local normalized companyStatistics supplies financials, margins, balance-sheet data, forward multiples and growth estimates. The official Fiscal.ai plugin provides matched October 2 U.S. price and USD capitalization observations. Raw retrieval files are retained locally for audit; the downloadable workbook carries the readable source ledger.

Currency conversion. Local Fiscal.ai normalized monetary metrics are already in USD. The raw reportingMetrics retain local currency and exchange rates; do not convert normalized values again. Retrieval rates include 0.0061506667 USD per JPY and 0.0314267756 USD per TWD. Share-price outcomes on Asian listings assume currency effects do not offset local gains. Local Asian closing prices and recent returns are unavailable in this screen.

Revenue and margin periods. For priority names with complete quarterly histories, revenue is the sum of four reported quarters. Other companyStatistics revenue bases have no verified reporting-period metadata. Historical margins may be distorted by asset sales, tax items, debt accounting or discontinued operations; they are not normalized earnings forecasts. MOD's October 2026 transaction makes older group financials unsuitable as a pro forma cooling-only model.

Growth Estimates Consensus. Fiscal.ai provider forward two-year revenue/EPS CAGR fields are included where available. They are provider estimates, not our 10× assumptions. The feed does not disclose every contributing analyst or a precise expectation timestamp. No complete three-year consensus EPS model or earnings-event package was built for 69 companies; the next workflow must check transcripts, presentation slides and report PDFs for shortlisted names.

Issuer claims. Contract awards and reported revenue are stronger evidence than product demonstrations, design wins, qualified sales pipelines or management market-size targets. Long lease values are cumulative nominal revenue over their terms; they are not present equity value, annual revenue or profit. Restricted cash, preferred investors, converts, warrants and project minority owners remain material claims.

Relevance score. Workbook labels 1–5 mean rejected/unsupported, adjacent, or increasingly direct product exposure. They rank research relevance only. They are not expected-return probabilities. Current exposure may be mixed even when a company provides a product used in AI.

Source confidence. Financial coverage is broad, with uneven exposure proof. EO Technics, Unimicron and AVC retain an exposure-verification flag where this run did not establish sufficiently specific current commercial evidence. Daejoo is rejected for this screen. GWH's provider trading flag conflicts with NYSE delisting proceedings; the exchange notice governs. MPTI's primary business evidence is aerospace/defense.

Next research. Build revenue/margin and fully diluted share-count models for TSS, TOWA and Faraday. Underwrite project financing and cash rights for BW and BTDR. Verify real production economics for POET/LWLG and a signed tenant for KEEL before promotion. Use lower entry valuations or a longer horizon for the large established suppliers.
